Karuizawa International to Become One of the First Grand Slam of Curling Satellite Events Starting in September 2026

Dear All,
Thank you for your continued coverage and support of Karuizawa International.
With the 2025–2026 season event approaching, we are pleased to announce that the next Karuizawa International will be held in September 2026.
We are also excited to announce that Karuizawa International has been selected as a Grand Slam of Curling Satellite Event, representing the Asian region as part of this new initiative.
The winning men’s and women’s teams will receive an invitation to compete in a Grand Slam event, creating a new pathway for teams to reach one of the sport’s highest stages.
We will continue our preparations to deliver a great tournament for fans and athletes.
Further details will be announced as they become available.

NOTES: The Grand Slam of Curling is one of the premier curling event series in the world, featuring five events annually for both men’s and women’s teams. Participation is limited primarily to top-ranked teams, typically within the top 16.

Karuizawa International 2026
Dates: September 17–20, 2026
Teams: 16 men‘s teams / 16 women’s teams (expected)
Venue: Karuizawa Ice Park(Karuizawa, Nagano, Japan)
Organizer: Karuizawa International Organizing Committee / SC Karuizawa Club
GSOC Qualification: The tournament will be held as a Grand Slam of Curling Satellite Event.The winning men’s and women’s teams will receive an invitation (entry fee waived) to compete in the Grand Slam event scheduled for October 13–18, 2026 in Canada.

NOTES: If the winning team has already qualified for the Grand Slam event, the invitation will be offered to the next highest-placed team from the event, provided that after points from this event are applied the team holds a World Ranking of 32 or higher.
