2023.12.01 Presented the Special Achievement Award to Ms. Elaine Dagg-Jackson, Curling Canada

Karuizawa International marks its 25th anniversary this year.

On November 30th, the Karuizawa International Curling Championships committee held the opening reception and also celebrated this milestone.
On this occasion, the committee presented Ms. Elaine Dagg-Jackson, Curling Canada national team program manager/ Lead & IST manager, the Special Achievement Award for her outstanding contributions to the Karuziawa bonspiel.

The Karuizawa International Curling Championships has been held since 1999, following the 1998 nagano Olympics.
At the Olympics, Ms. Dagg-Jackson was in Karuizawa as the head coach of Japan’s curling team. Mr. Glen Jackson, her husband was with her as the men’s team coach as well.

The friendship story between Ms. Dagg-Jackson and Karuizawa began then.
She knows a lot about Karuizawa people’s enthusiasm to promote the development of the town with curling.
She has especially rendered generous assistance to the Karuizawa International and encouraged Canadian teams to participate in Karuizawa bonspiel. This is because she knows it’s important for curlers to compete with many teams in order to become stronger.

As Ms. Dagg-Jackson understands well how hard it is to spread curling culture in undeveloped areas, her contribution to curling development has been and is really appreciated.

Let us express our sincere gratitude to her once again.
We hope to continue and cherish the wonderful relationship and bond we have established.

We are proud of you, Elaine!
